No one is very fond of rules but you have to have them to enure that all members have a pleasant experience while visiting our board. Feathered and Free is designed to be a lively, fun community for adults with a sense of adventure and a love of parrots. We are trying to keep things light-hearted and fun while we share our bird experiences. Please bear in mind that this message board is a FREE service to the bird loving community and being sponsored solely out of my own pocket-no donations or subscriptions are accepted so I want to make this board fun for me too!
Swearing
We do not auto-censor swear words here and it is not against the rules to use them. We are all adults here (membership will not be given to under 18's) and most of us probably swear in real life, especially when something really pisses us off. In the bird world, we see lots of things that will piss us off-poachers, abuse, neglect and just plain stupidity. So go ahead and express yourself as you wish as long as you don't break the next rule.
Flaming/Insulting Other Members
There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for rudeness, drama, flaming, snarky little digs, pot-stirring, anything that is meant to make another member feel bad will not be allowed. Posts/threads that break any of these rules will be deleted or moved to the Mod Forum at management discretion.
Post: The sky looks green today.
OK: I disagree, the sky looks more blue than green today.
Not OK: Any idiot can see the sky is blue!
Not OK: Are you nuts? The sky is blue!
Not OK: You really should get glasses so you can see the correct colour of the sky.
We will all see bad birdkeeping practices from time to time, please take the opportunity to EDUCATE the person politely so that they and their birds will benefit. Nothing is gained by running someone off who is only here to learn something.
I just want everyone to respect each other. This is the rule which will get you banned more than anything.
Discrimination
There will be no discrimination based on sex, race, sexual preference, nationality, age (as long as you are over 18), economic situation or religion. Anyone insulting another member based on the above will be banned. It is strictly forbidden to use insulting terms to refer to anyone based on the above mentioned groups. (The N word, etc). Just try to get along!
Other message boards
It is not allowed to discuss other message boards and forums in here. If you have an issue with another board, please take it to the management of that board. It is also not allowed to link to other message boards without WRITTEN permission from an Administrator. This includes posts, threads, signatures, avatars and private messages It also includes attempts to avoid the rule by spelling out words www messageboard dot com.
Trouble-Makers, Trolls & Spammers
The registration screening should weed these out. If one gets in by mistake, they will be banned. Problems in threads
If you feel you have been insulted in a thread, please do not escalate into a flaming war. There is a small red and white triangle at the top of every post. Click on this and send a report to all board staff, then let us deal with it.
Adult Humour
We love a great sense of humour and since this board is designed for adults, please feel free to post adult jokes in the Frivolous Fun board. However this is not a porn site so please do not post porn, there are plenty of sites for that! I know kids can lurk this site but there are far "more interesting" sites out there if that is what they are looking for.
